Billy Huxley, model… You may have seen this handsome 23-year-old lad in a few magazines, billboards or even on television without knowing that you were looking at the next big thing on the male modelling scene. With a Scandinavian viking look, prominent tats and a bit of a rebel without a cause kind of attitude, it is easy to understand why Billy has become one of the most popular models in English fashion and why 37 000 people follow him on Twitter and Instagram. With all that said and done, there is a lot more to Billy Huxley than meets the eye. Sure, if you follow him on Twitter you will know that he does not shy away from confrontation nor does he mind his language, but under the surface you’ll find a genuine, level headed guy with a broad and varied interest in music.
It all began when his cousin Hannah encouraged him to start working in the fashion industry and he decided to try his luck as a freelance model. Shortly afterwards Billy signed up with D1 Models with life changing consequences. He has since then gone from having the life of an ordinary young man to suddenly modelling for the likes of Adidas, Urban Outfitters and ASOS. He has also appeared in Kaltblut– and FHM Magazine. In particular, Billy considered his photo shoot with FHM one of the most important assignments to date because of the exposure he got from it, but at the same time, that very shoot was also the most fun, as he all he had to do was spray beer around and play a bit of a football. Yep, some guys has got it all.
Not afraid of a hard days work Billy worked in his father’s roofing company before becoming a model, which might explain his mature approach to the modelling game. Sure, like most twenty-somethings he parties hard and does not shy away from getting hammered as and when the opportunity presents itself. But at the same time he does make an effort to take care of himself with daily visits to the gym, and a zero carbs after 10:00AM diet. Speaking of going out… A self-confessed bad dancer, you probably won’t find him on the dance floor, but more likely he’ll be in a bar in Brixton, (his favourite area in London), having drinks with his mates listening to the DJ’s tunes. A self confessed music addict with a wide knowledge and a keen interest in music, you’ll find him listening to anything from Pink Floyd to Jai Paul. He has got a preference for genuine music to commercial tunes, although he does confess to listening to the song ‘Beautiful’ by Mariah Carey on repeat for quite a few days. Well, we can only say that nobody is perfect, Billy.
Billy gets his body art work done somewhere in Walthamstow or Gants Hill. Unfortunately we have unable to track down the exact parlour, but will ask him the next time we talk to him. He got his first tat at the tender age of 16 but has added many more to his collection since then. Perhaps he is best known for having 1989 tattooed across his chest, but he also has a myriad of tats particularly on his arms and hands. When asked about them, Billy replied that he would love to become a tattooist. Come of it, Billy. We think that you will be way too busy in the coming years travelling the world and becoming an international superstar in the fashion industry.
When it comes to fashion and trends, Billy is very much his own. With no preference for designer or high street, you’ll find him mixing it up, the only item a consistent being his much loved H By Hudson brown leather shoes with the tuck and fold roll-ups on his jeans. Based on the preference of some of the brands he would like to work with, we think it is safe to say that he does have a thing for Fred Perry, Dr Martens and Vivienne Westwood. In his own words:”… you can’t go wrong with a decent polo shirt, some skinny denim and a biker jacket to sling on over the top”.
Asked about which female models he’d like to work with both Kate Moss‘s and Cara Delevingne‘s name pop up. That would make for some serious hot photography… Make it happen, Huxley.
