You’ve been wearing your favourite overalls all summer, but now the days are getting cooler, you can’t bear to pack them away. And why should you? With a little inventiveness, transitioning your overalls into the autumn is simplicity itself, so you can go on enjoying the style and comfort you love. Whether you are wedded to classic denim pair, bold colours, or the simplicity of pure white, a pair of overalls is essential to any woman’s wardrobe. And of course, overalls are ideal for creating layered outfits that are so useful in the capricious autumn weather.
Most people imagine denim as the ultimate in overalls material, and it’s certainly true that there are many ways to wear your denims to emphasise your personality. Shorter lengths are the thing this season, so look for versions which end at the calf or that you can roll up to your desired length. A mid-length pair can also look totally sassy by adding a striped T-shirt and black leather jacket. Or opt for overalls with rolled-up hems, worn with a standard cotton top and loosely styled jacket – heeled ankle boots and short flecked socks complete the look. If classic length is your thing, then team your overalls with a silky cashmere-style jumper and a plain canvas jacket, whilst stiletto heels add feminine flair.
