How do you feel about stripes? Don’t rule them out as unflattering until you’ve tried the vertical version. If you’re still not sure, we suggest thin lines for a more slimming effect. But how will you style the trend this time around?
There aren’t many women who don’t look sharp in a pin-striped shirt, worn loose over jeans, shorts or wide-leg trousers. Cover with a denim jacket or dress up with a blazer and pencil skirt. Alternatively have the trousers in tasteful stripes instead, or make the skirt a pin-stripe affair.
As this is a good look for summer into autumn, make a statement with thick strips or a mixture of widths. Wrap a stripey skirt around you and top with a slouchy blouse or white tee. Use contrasting shades in delicous candy stripes, or stand out in something simple but bold such as white with navy or red.
From mini to maxi, the vertical stripes trend is so versatile – take a look at our ideas and add some of your own.
